Crap

not fun at all

Great App. I love all new features

As much as I love this app I have two wishes. 1) I wish it would sync bookmarks with my iPad 1 version. I go back and forth ALOT between the two. There has got to be a way. The version I have on my iPad is the last one released for iOS 5.01 2) I wish the version for my iPad had white text on black background available. This last one is minor but the bookmark syncing would be great That said I really do love this app. All the note taking and color coded highlighting are awesome and I love the "tab" functionality too. Keep up the good work.

Good App.

This is a good app, but can sometimes be a bit confusing to find your way around. I guess with each new change there is some new learning to do. I agree with a precious review that it would be nice to be able to sync with my other mobile device. You get frustrated because you have to flip to find where you were reading on the other device, and this wastes a great deal of time. Also, I find that "turning pages" is more difficult to do than in some of the other apps I use, eg. Kindle. It can be frustrating. But all in all a good app.

Deseret book

It fulfills its purpose for me. Great to be able to read, highlight, and share with others, excerpts from books to facebook etc. Im not carrying loads of books around. When I moved to another country, I had to give my past books away, so its wonderful way to build a library!

Vastly Better

This version is incredibly better than the first one. Incredible features and works very well.

Great

Marking capability, is synchronized, and provides access to so much material.

Great app but when I updated ios 8.3 it keeps crashing and cant open it.

The app is awesome. Im on IOS 8.3 now and the app wont work anymore. I believe this needs just a minor fix. So 3 star for now.

Deseret Bookshelf Reviews

I like the quote section and seeing that Deseret Book has pulled the LDS Quotes App I decided to transfer my favourites from that app to this one. The problem I have is that I had quotes from non-LDS authors that I really like, but could not add them like I could with LDS Quotes. I think you should be able to add topics, sources and authors from anywhere as long as they are uplifting and are not contrary to Church beliefs. I also have quotes from General Authorities whose names are not listed under the author section. Any way to change that?

Has some bugs

This by far my most favourite way to study scriptures and other books but it has some bugs that I would love to have fixed. I like being able to switch so easily between books and have several open at a time.

Good books

When I order a book from Deseret Books I know it is a book I can enjoy and not feel disappointed in the quality and the integrity of the book. Besides the doctrinal books I also enjoy mysteries. Thank you.

Bookshelf

I love it! Love the daily quotes very inspiring.

Fantastic app

This app serves so many great purposes. I enjoy the daily quotes and that I can get my books on demand. Thank you DB.

Needs work

This app is frustrating in that the sharing/note etc. pane does not always come up first try after selecting text . Then text selections often cannot be shared via email. This is disappointing and makes the app less than satisfactory. Needs to be compatible with Gospel Library.

Love reading eBooks from DESERET Books

I love the concept of having books from DESERET Books available on my mobile devices. Sometimes this app does not work as it should but mostly it is great so I give it a 4 out of 5.

There are so many better choices

Not recommended. UPDATE: The latest version now insists on forcing me to view Deseret Books website in Safari, every single time it launches. What a waste of time. The latest version of this app has made many improvements, but its still the worst book reader out there. If a book is available from anywhere else I will buy it there first. I only use this app if I have no other choice. The scrolling is really weird (sometimes the scroll bar dissapeared completely), switching between pages doesnt always work, and some popup windows dont have scroll bars at all. Basically, they have gone after all these flashy bits but still havent got the fundamentals right.

Great app

Great way to take my favourite books anywhere with me. However, Some of the instructions for the features are confusing.

:)

Love this

Poor response to touch and remote on iPhone

Built in remote on headphones doesnt work at all for audiobooks on iPhone. Have to pull phone out of pocket to pause or start audiobook and doesnt resume after phone call. Very annoying when walking and someone tries to talk to you and you are trying to get to your buried phone to stop the audiobook. Can adjust volume remotely and thats it. The app itself is frequently slow to respond to touch. May not start or stop playing when touched and so you keep touching it and when it finally responds it may flicker on and off for the number of times it was touched. Similarly, the 15 sec rewind may not work for 4 or 5 touches and then it bounces back as many times as it was touched it. Again very annoying. This app is enough to keep me from buying LDS audiobooks if this is the only app they can be played in. Terrible app for audiobooks.

Great app

I really like this app. I can download all of my favourite books and read them on the go. It works great

Way uncomfortable

I dont like this bookreader, because: - There are no pages in the book in a chapter. There is only one page for the whole chapter - It doesnt save the place where you stopped a reading and go to the other App. Thats why you have to remember where exactly did you stop and look for it every time.
