Deseret Bookshelf LDS Books App Reviews

I just wish I could download to my kindle but it works great on my iPhone and my iPad. I have not had any trouble getting the books I have bought nor has it crashed on me like some complain off. Now if I could download the app to my kindle which I use in the evenings because of no backlight on the kindle so it doesnt disturb my sleep like if I use my iPad or watch TV.

I do not know why Deseret Book has decided that they need to create their own ebook app . . . I am certain that they have a reason why they have taken a path which makes their ebooks not compatible with the Kindle app for example. That having been said, without simply pointing out where the Deseret Book app is different than the Kindle app (which is probably the standard), I find the app does a good job presenting the unique LDS content which is not available via any other outlet. I have a good sized library of LDS and non-LDS content. I am able to read the ebooks without any problems. The app syncs content and most recent location a crossed devices like iPhone, iPad, etc. I even found that there is a way to read my Deseret content on my PC.

Some trouble with the search function... but I love this app. My only wish is that it be available for Kindle eReaders. It used to do funny things with bookmarks, but that seems to have got sorted now. 3/18/16 update: 2 main probems Im having with the current version: 1) balky scrolling; 2) never-ending loading if I go from a notification on my home screen, to the app. So I stopped notifications...

I sympathize with others having problems, but I have had none to date. The Deseret Bookshelf app works fine for me. In all fairness, its not as convenient as the app for LDS.org, but I have no complaints.

Seems that once per month I have to remove and reinstall it on my iPad. Hope they get the bugs worked out soon.

App works great. I wish when you are making tags, when you click on the tag that all other tags of the same that it would have a hyperlink to the other tags of the same name.

Since the last update, I cant read my books unless I am connected to wifi. It opens, but just tries to sync nonstop. I use this app a lot and enjoy it, but this flaw needs to be fixed. Like other users, I wish my books could be read on my kindle as well, but its not enough of an issue with me to be a problem.

When you click on a scriptural reference, you are taken to that passage, and it is highlighted green. Perfect! Great feature! But then, guess what? After 5-6 seconds, the highlighting disappears. What?? Why?? There is no compelling reason to do this. It keeps me from using this app, and I really want to. PLEASE, developers, change this -- do it like the churchs gospel library app, where you click on the link, the passage is highlighted, and then it STAYS highlighted!!!

A few blips in the beginning, but now working quite well. Not as intuitive as some apps but it can be mastered. Glad to have my church, spiritual reading in this app. Wish it synced with LDS tools but I can imagine the issues there. Would like to read LDS magazines in this app.

I love this app so easy to use and the downloads are the best.

I can finally give this 5 stars now that they have fixed all the issues I know about. I use this app daily. Bookmarks are working great again and have been for the last couple updates. Keep up the features, bug fixes, and optimization!

Does not finish tasks in Windows.

I can not open the app. It opens for 2 seconds and then closes.

Has a couple of shortcomings but all in all a good tool thats been handy for listening to books on my commute.

Extensive LDS library, syncs well across devices, good note capability

Has always been very good but is constantly crashing now doesnt even say open long enough to go to a second screen. I have many, 100+ books on the app. Cant even get them to sync for crashing.
